UPKEEP ATLASHOME CARE FIELDNOTESLocal-first / No account

About & method

Useful, not all-knowing.

Upkeep Atlas is a home maintenance planner and completion ledger. It is designed for people who want an understandable next-job queue and a portable record, without opening an account.

The workflow

Add a task or choose a relevant starter. Review its due date, interval, equipment details and manufacturer instructions. When the work happens, record the real completion date and cost if known. The next date follows the recurrence you selected. Export a JSON backup regularly.

What local-first means here

Tasks and history are stored in your browser’s local storage. They are not sent to an application server. There is no account recovery, automatic cloud backup, multi-device synchronization or live shared household view. The page works after it has loaded, but a fresh offline reload is not guaranteed. No service worker is installed.

What the app does not do

It does not inspect your home, detect recalls, verify warranties, monitor equipment, send background notifications, download manuals, store receipt attachments, connect to banks or book professionals. Calendar export is a one-time file, not a notification service. The app has no paid plan, marketplace or fake subscription checkout.

Editorial standards

Guides explain recordkeeping and product behavior. Safety-related starters link to sources such as USFA, ENERGY STAR, EPA and manufacturer help pages. Intervals marked as planning defaults are not universal requirements. This material has not been certified by a building inspector, electrician or other professional. Follow local requirements and current manufacturer guidance.

Funding

Optional display advertising supports the free tool. Advertising is labeled and separate from task controls. Your choice does not change access to features. Network/device information can reach advertising vendors when you allow ads; read the privacy notice. There are no fabricated testimonials, user counts or revenue claims.

Portability before lock-in

JSON exports preserve the full application record. CSV exports provide readable task and completion tables. Archive is reversible. Imports validate data and refuse conflicting merges instead of silently overwriting edits. Keep backups outside the browser.
